St. Michael's Cathedral 160th Anniversary
Saturday, September 27, 2008

Saturday, September 27, 2008 will mark the 160th anniversary of St. Michael’s Cathedral in Toronto. In recognition of this milestone, the Office of Catholic Youth, in partnership with St. Michael’s Cathedral, will be hosting a day of festivities, to which everyone is invited. Parishes are being encouraged to organize their own pilgrimages to the Cathedral for all parishioners. For parishes situated too far away to plan a walking pilgrimage, we suggest travelling together by TTC to St. Michael’s in time for the 5 pm Mass celebrated by Archbishop Collins.

An outdoor party with FREE food, beverages and live music will follow the 5:00 pm Mass

We are also encouraging groups or individuals to start their afternoon at the Office of Catholic Youth at the Newman Centre so that we may process together to the Cathedral.

Fellowship!

Hey guys! Praise God for the awesome GA (turned CGA..turned HHA) that we had on Saturday. Thank you also to SSW and SNW for crashing. HAHA, love you guys. It was so great seeing you all again. I missed worshipping with you guys! I'm glad the usual cycle of events is back in full swing. It's the start of a new school year and what better way to start it off than with your brothers and sisters in YFC. Let's make the most of this year, guys. In school and in service. :) All glory to God!

Alright, so this weekend we'll be having a Fellowship! Weird, I know but it works out. Trust me! ahah. While planning this event we figured that SSE hasn't been bowling in a loooong while so....thereforee.............it's time to have a........

Joe and I have missed everyone all way too much. Come to think about it, a lot of you I haven't even seen since like..the very last time I saw you. Geez. So, we've come to realize that SSE is in serious need of an event. A REAL event. A GA event.

...Kay, so that didn't work out as well as it was supposed to ...but never-the-less, this weekend we'll be having..a.....GENERAL ASSEMBLY!!!

Conference + CFC Anniversary!

Hey hey hey lovelies! God is love - all the time! Praise our awesome God for such a successful 2008 C4 National Conference. He was truly making movements through our community and big things were happening all because of His love. It was a great blessing to have been able to praise and worship the Lord with all our brothers and sisters from across the nation. Praise God for the blessed opportunities He brings and the happiness He instills within our hearts. And praise praise praise God for blessing our C2 Jr. Dance and Jr. Band teams and allowing them to be victorious at Conference. How sweet it is to be loved by Him :)

So, what's next? Just cause conference is over does not mean the love isn't therefore! this upcoming Saturday CFC will be having their Family Ministries Anniversary in Pickering at around morning or afternoon time...further details are to be announced and rides will be arranged.

IMPORTANT CONFERENCE INFO

so yes guys the next few posts coming up will be regarding conference and such
we REALLLY need everyone whos going to register asap because the due date is closing up fast and i was told that there wil lbe no increase in price but rather they will NOT be accepting anymore forms AFTER august 8 so you really need to get those in fast and you gotta contact me before hand so i can meet you up to get the forms and then give it to the people that is has to go to and ALSO as the BIGGEST delgation in canada and also being the HOST we only have people 28 registered from East Sector, so we REALLY have to start giving in forms because they will also need to know a.s.a.p. how many rooms etc to save and all that jazz so if you are thinknig of gonig to or are planning on gonig to go to conference please contact me through facebook or cellphone as Christine Ates is on vacation until Aug13 = way to leave my hanging =( lol but yes contact me asap please and thank you =)

It has been brought to attention that the registration deadlines have changed. As of NOW, the price of the conference fee will NO LONGER go up to $220 by July 31st. It will remain in the price of $200 until AUGUST 8th midnight. BUUUUUT, keep in mind that after August 8th...NO conference fees or forms will be accepted. THIS IS A FACT AND FOR REAL! SO, please spread the word. We hope this helps with the inviting of the youths and gives them more of a motiviation to go to Conference.

Cluster 2 will be meeting up at KENNEDY STATION from 11AM - 12PM.

Please note that this is NOT an official YFC event. What that means is that there will be no CCs (unless they are willing to come out of their own time) there at the beach. If something happens, YFC will not be liable!

Also, with conference just about a month away we are asking that as members, for you guys to have the chance to help our brothers and sisters in the community who may have trouble registering for conference. Everyone who will be in attendance will donate a minimum of $5-10. That would be great!

Please also keep in mind that the price for the conference registration will go up after July 31st! So PLEASE BRING YOUR FORMS AND PAYMENTS TO THE BEACH if you haven't submitted them in yet! This will be the best and perfect opportunity to!

CAMP SURRENDER!

Praise God for the success of Camp SURRENDER!! We had to overcome so many struggles during this camp and the many things hindering us from serving to our fullest but by the grace of our almighty God we did it. We got through it all and we strived till the very end for the glory of His kingdom. Praise God for His strength, love, and power which, I truly believe, are the only things that allowed us to make it through the camp with hopeful spirits and ever-strengthening faith. Despite all the challenges this camp faced, we are blessed to have a new group of brothers and sisters to be welcomed into our cluster. This is the beginning of a new chapter in their faith and we are blessed to be apart of their growth in the spirit!
Next week will be our Camp Surrender Covenant Orientation. Details are TBA.

Please keep the Parayno family in your prayers. They have been through a lot this past weekend but even within these struggles they've been truly blessed and saved by God. Pray that they hang on tight to God's strength and that they fight on with hope and perseverance in our Lord.
We are so thankful that you guys are okay and we're always praying for you. Be strong!

A one day event focusing on how society is currently handling the protection of life, preservation of the family and its role in today's society. Guest Speakers include Dr. Janet E. Smith, Chair of Life Ethics at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. This event is not only open to Couple for Christ and its family ministries, but to all youth and adults. Invite your friends! ALRIGHT! The CO has been pushed back a week therefore this coming saturday April 12th will be a CGA only and the Convenant Orientation is on April 19th. Everyone is still invited and the pie throwingness is still on but still sooo unnecessary and the time has changed to 1PM-5PM

hey guys its joeboobmashoo and im just wanted to apologize for the lack of events, this weekend we were suppose to have a clusters leader assembly, but was cancelled due to the cfc's being on a retreat, instead we were planning on having a fellowship BUT because its easter, me and ates believed it wouldn't be appropriate to celebrate and have fun on saturday the day after jesus died for us. So once again we apologize and we will keep all ya'll informed about the next shindigmaroo that we have coming up.

For those member's who are not serving in the camp or anything of that such, if you guys could lend support to the calayca's and attend the Fundraiser/event to help the family in their efforts to find Christina Calayca. The tickets are $40 for 'adults' and $12 for children 12 and under. I believe it is a semi-formal at a bandquet hall, i only took a quick glance at the tickets. This will be taking place on April 4th, which coincidentaly is on the same first day of Camp HD. So once again if you guys can help support the event that would be perfect, i understand that it is expensive so its understandable if you can't come but if you guys can make the effort that is perfect, because f.y.i.(for your information) Christina Calayca a 'long' time ago used to be the Chapter Head of what was once South Scarborough(before we split up) so it would be good to show support.

WYD PALM SUNDAY CELEBRATION!

Hello loverlies. We're still trying to get the boys meetings under way but it looks like it's gonna be on Saturday at Jayson's in the morning. (Saturday, March 15, 2008) Also, later on that day there will be a WYD Palm Sunday Celebration. It is an official YFC event so if you can come out, please do!

"Palm Sunday is recognized internationally as the World Day of Youth. This celebration, including catechesis, praise and worship and mass at St. Michael's Cathedral in downtown Toronto, launches the annual WYD theme as chosen by the Holy Father. All are welcome. This year's theme is: "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses." (Acts 1:8)"

- Praise & Worship
-Catechesis and Q & A
-Small group sharing and witness talks

Hello, loves. Even though I wanted to leave the last post at the top of the page because it looked soo pretty and soo heart-warming with the picture and the heart, it is my duty to keep you updated therefore the previous pretty picture post moves down the page. Forgive me if I'm a bit incoherent right now. I've been watching loads of One Tree Hill and it's been intense and I'm basically in the aftermath of my tears.

HHA ON SUNDAY, CANCELLED.

Hello, guys. Just a heads up that the HHA scheduled for Sunday is cancelled because the CFC Office has been booked for another event :(

Fear not though because it is instead going to be on Saturday! Here are the details:

Toronto 7th Annual Youth Weekend
When: Saturday, February 23: 12pm- 8pm
Sunday, February 24: 12pm- 8pm
Where: Bishop Morroco High School
Address: 1515 Bloor St. W- Outside of Dundas West Station
Cost: $20
Ages: 15-30 Years old

This weekend will include:
Powerful talks, discussions on Sexuality & Life; Drugs; Internet; God; Vocations & Others give by Priests, Dr.s
Holy Mass with Archbishop of Toronto Thomas Collins
Entertainment & Recreation, Praise & Worship Music, Reconciliation & Music Festival

Unfortunately, the leaders will not be able to attend because it is the same day as the training but I strongly encourage all members to come out if you can.

Because the day coincides with Leaders Training, Andrea Reodica will be in charge of coordinating this event. So, if there are any questions or concerns please go to her for all the info :) We're planning a meet-up at Kennedy so that you can all travel together to the venue, that way it's more organized AND more chances for fellowship!

C to the H to the A...CHANGES CHANGES! (bang bang)

Hai, guys! My name is Christine Ates. I am sixteen years old and currently attend UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO, BRAP BRAP (Lie, I go to Dame). Nice to meet you! So, I've been looking around the blogspots of some other chapters and I noticed most of them had a changes post so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon! That and it'd look real bad on Joe and I if we didn't inform you guys about what's going on.

Alright so, as most of you know, your former chapter heads Jamie and Jeff have been called to serve as the heads of Cluster 2! And in turn Miguel and Ashley are byebye :( Miguel is now program head for High School Based and Ashley is now a mission volunteer for Campus Based. And as for your new chapter heads....(drumroll please!)

BADA BADA BADA BADA BADA.....

Tis I, Christine Ates, and your brother Mr. Joseph Franco! HEYYY!
Yes, I am originally from South West. Yes, a lot of you may not know me that well. Yes, I do autographs. Yes, I'm eager to grow with all of you. Yes, I'm really not Korean. Yes, I am excited to be here. YES!

And since we're going on about changes, it's probably good that you know about what's going on in our cluster as a whole.

SOUTH WEST: Mr. Ramuel Villardo, former chapter head of SSW, has been called to serve as head of Cluster 1 and in turn Mr. Chris Rizarri is taking his place.......and the female chapter head is still Servie Servs (yay?... <3)
NORTH WEST: Ernest Gomba is still chapter head along with his brand new counterpart Ms. Amalia Reodica! YAY! Amee, we shall miss you!

Alright, so there you have it! The changes have now been revealed and have fully come into effect. I know that for a lot of us, these changes are really big and might take some getting used to but I pray that hopefully everyone can welcome it with an open heart.

Thanks to Miguel & Ashley for all they've done for us as a cluster. It's truely been a blessing having you guys as our cluster heads and we'll miss you two a lot. Take care and we wish you all the best in your new respective programs :)

Thanks to Jeff and Jamie for all they've done for this chapter. We know you guys are gonna make us proud as our new cluster heads and Joe and I will do our best to be even half the leaders you guys were. LOVELOVELOVE!

ALRIGHT, SOUTH EAST! I'm so excited to be serving with all of you guys. Let's keep on moving forward with all these new changes in tact. NEXT WEEK WE HAVE A..
